Best wishes to the Class of 2015 PDF Print E-mail

This was the huge backdrop painted by 6th Year student Oisin Delea, which hung proudly in the school hall at Colaiste Choilm on Wednesday 20th May for the Graduation Mass . The idea and theme were picked by the 6th Year students themselves. The dandelion seeds blowing off in different directions is very symbolic of the ending of their journey in school and the beginning of the next chapter in their young lives. Best of luck to all 6th year students in the future and we thank them for sharing the past 6 years with each other and the school community.

May 8th - World Ovarian Cancer Day PDF Print E-mail
Written by Coláiste Choilm

May 8 was world ovarian cancer day and to raise awareness about this silent killer our first years copied the logo of the Emer Casey foundation. The copy was made by getting the students to kneel in position in such a way as to reproduce the shape and colour of the logo. Anne O Leary, a board member, and parent of Patrick Linehan in first year, spoke to the students about the need to raise awareness of ovarian cancer among young people. By being more aware we can save lives... Thanks to Karen Daly( year head), Mary O Mahony( art teacher) and Fr. James ( resident photographer!!)for making this possible. A special word of thanks to Anne O Leary for bringing the idea to our school.

Henry Shefflin spoke to students about hurling, sport in general and hard work as part of Health and Fitness Week.  His inspiring talk prompted Fr. James to base his "Thought of the Week" around the hurling hero.

I realized I had to work very hard, I wasn't very good at underage but I wanted to be good and I wanted to get the best out of myself' ~Henry Shefflin speaking at Coláiste Choilm, Ballincollig during the week.
